As part of our commitment to conserve the state's unique collections and make them more accessible, the Library has digitised over 200,000 images, maps, pamphlets and music scores. This includes some of our rarest and most fragile material. Found in the Library's Main and Pictures catalogues, these items can be easily accessed and used by anyone, anywhere, anytime.
Our short animation on Melbourne's Princess Theatre shows you a sample of the material collected, preserved and digitised at the Library that can be accessed through our catalogues. Built in 1886 and designed by William Pitt, the Princess Theatre is one of Melbourne's premier theatres.
