Curators Online

With the evolution of the internet and the emergence of new technologies, the Library has been able to offer our users new ways to access specialist expertise and knowledge. One of the latest initiatives is Curators online, a series of presentations by specialist Library staff on a featured treasure from our collection.

Sharing knowledge of our treasures

Our audio presentation allows you to hear the first of our Curators Online series. Des Cowley, Manager of the Rare Books Collection, talks about Liber Chronicarum or Chronicle of the World. Also known as the Nuremberg Chronicle, it was one of the most ambitious books produced before 1500. Featuring 2000 woodcut illustrations, printed from 645 individual woodblocks, it has been described as the 'crown of German medieval craftsmanship'.
